Mason A Young Star`
As expected, Steve Mason was named to the NHL All Star Young Stars Game today. A consolation prize to be sure, but another in the growing list of accolades coming this young man's way as he continues his stellar play. Nice job Steve!

What if Luongo Can't go? Will Mase get the call?
Just saw this on Puck Rakers:
Mason Update
"Just spoke with GM Scott Howson in the lobby restaurant of the Blue Jackets team hotel. Goaltender Steve Mason is questionable for tonight's game vs. Washington with upper body "tightness."
That means it's 50-50 that Mason will play. If he doesn't start, Mason will serve as back-up to Dan LaCosta.
-- Aaron Portzline"
I would hope that Mase would get the call if Luongo doesn't go, but I have a hunch it will be Kiprusoff, based upon reputation.
On the other hand, they might elevate Mason and then name Jonathan Quick from LA to the Young Stars team.
Part of it will depend upon when a decision is made on Luongo.
If I am the Vancouver Canucks management, there is no way I am letting him anywhere near the net during the All Star break.
With everything going on maybe Nash and Mason should stay home.
HUGE, HUGE, HUGE !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mase = League leader in:
Save %
GAA
Shutouts
Carry The Flag !!!
If that is how Mason plays when hurt -- keep him hurt!
What an effort!
